Martha Hoey

Therapeutic Touch Network Ontario > TTNO Members > Branch Contacts, Practitioners, Teachers > Martha Hoey

Martha first experienced TT from her mentor Evelyn MacKay, who gave her the first TT session, which completely relieved the physical, emotional and spiritual pain of a damaged shoulder. This profound experience changed her life and started her healing and teaching journey with TT. Evelyn mentored Martha to excel in learning and teaching levels 1, 2, and 3. After participating in many of the Therapeutic Touch retreats, held by the TTNO, she realized that her dream was to build a healing centre and practice many of these modalities as well as offer them to people around the world. Martha Hoey BFA, BEd, RT, has taught Therapeutic Touch in the Guelph area since 2008 and has been a Recognized Practitioner since 1996. Martha gives introductory sessions and demonstrations to groups such as: Stroke Survivor groups, Multiple Sclerosis chapters, Heart & Stroke care giver groups and at local spas, meditation and yoga centres as well as YM-YWCA vitality programs. Also, a skilled artist-potter and sculptor, Martha’s accomplishments are numerous including, international awards for her sculptures and exhibitions of her reproduction pottery used in many museums like Upper Canada Village, Historic Fort York, and Fort George. Currently, Martha teaches and practices Therapeutic Touch, as well as many other stress management and healing methods in client’s homes, hospitals, palliative care facilities and at Elm Tree Centre. Martha founded this healing centre to welcome everyone to experience, and learn the doctrines and methods from many different holistic healing and wellness practices. She facilitates a TTNO Branch at Elm Tree Centre, on the 1st Tuesday of the month 1-3 pm. She teaches many different kinds of workshops such as Pottery, Sculpture, Meditation, Intuitive Training as well as Therapeutic Touch Levels 1, 2, and 3.
