Therapeutic Touch®: Science and Spirit in Guelph

A Morning of Connecting and Learning

On September 30, 2019 Trinity United Church Therapeutic Touch (TT) Branch offered the opportunity to all TT practitioners in our local area to share a morning together and hear guest speaker Dr. Nauman Naeem MD, who specializes in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Guelph General Hospital and is the author of the book Healing From the Inside Out: Overcome Chronic Disease and Radically Change Your Life. We had an amazing 100 registrants sign up for this event.

Each of the five area TT Branches (Elm Tree, Lilac, Magnolia, Willow, and Trinity) spoke for a short time about how their group operates, sharing what happens in their group meetings and what is unique and special about their group. We then gathered for table discussions and shared experiences, concerns, and ideas.

Dr Naeem spoke about “Embracing the Unknown” and shared some of his experiences and wisdom gained from dealing with patients at end of life and in critical care situations. He was given a TT treatment at the end of the morning.

Knitted prayer shawls and lap blankets were made available for a contribution to the “Dee and Dora Fund.”

The Trinity TT Branch is an outreach ministry of Trinity United Church, Guelph, and was fortunate and grateful to be able to offer this event at no cost because of a grant received from The United Church of Canada “Embracing the Spirit” fund.

Participants left feeling energized. We are hopeful for more chances to share with other TTers in the future!
