Bishop Smith High School Students Earn Level 1

On January 14th, twenty students from Bishop Smith Catholic High School in Pembroke completed their Level 1 Therapeutic Touch® training.  Patricia Tamosetis, RP, gave an introductory talk earlier in the year. Interested students were encouraged to attend the Level 1 workshop.

In 2012, teacher Mrs. Carol Plue was looking for someone to speak to her Health Care class about complementary therapies.  The program is offered to Grade 11 and 12 students as a general elective or as part of the Health and Wellness Specialist High-Skills Major program (SHSM) that covers a wide variety of health care aspects both traditional and complementary. This is the fourth year this program has been held.

Young people have so many pressures that they face in their lives, often more than we can imagine.  TT offers them some tools to help themselves and to support their fellow students.
