Burks Falls, Armour & Ryerson Public Library - May 8

It is always a pleasure to spend time at the library. We provided 3 Therapeutic Touch sessions, one individual who had no knowledge but she was awed at her experience and asked lots of questions. There were other individuals who acknowledged they would have loved to attend, however the date did not work for them. We plan to schedule another in the fall.
Community Living Huntsville Staff Wellness - May 27

A table was set up to promote the awareness of Therapeutic Touch and provide information to interested individuals. This staff wellness fair is an annual event provided by this agency to their staff and we are a regular participant. As a result of this year 7 individuals signed up for a workshop to learn about Therapeutic Touch for Self Care to be held at CL Huntsville in early June. A
Angela was the lucky winner to receive a copy of Be Your Own Healer: Self-Care with Therapeutic Touch by Crystal Hawk and Alison Cooke.
Therapeutic Touch for Self Care - June 8

Recognized Practitioners Cathy and Gwen shared information about Therapeutic Touch® leading participants through a variety of experiences, including a fun activity with energy sticks, guided imagery, the poem When I Am Among the Trees, and other reflective practices from the book.
Throughout the evening, we brought the book to life. We empowered participants with simple skills they can add into their busy days and also to their own self-care practices. A light meal provided an opportunity to pause, nourish ourselves, and connect. The gentle sound of chimes signaled our return to learning how to offer ourselves a full Therapeutic Touch session. As the evening unfolded, a soft and peaceful sense of well-being filled the room.
Each participant received a copy of Be Your Own Healer: Self-Care with Therapeutic Touch to support their continued learning and self-care journey at home.
Participants shared comments such:
“I feel lighter than when I arrived.
"Thank you for an amazing evening.”
“I feel so relaxed and calm.”
“I feel refreshed.”
As someone who understands the important work carried out by Community Living staff, I felt deeply honored to share Therapeutic Touch self-care practices with my colleagues. To support their well-being, sharing a practice that continues to support and make a difference in my life.
