Therapeutic Touch Comes to Kingston Hospice

Kingston Hospice is getting their volunteers prepared for their new residential facility, expected to be completed by 2017. Therapeutic Touch is planned to be a part of their care program. On Thursday & Friday, September 10 & 11 five volunteers took the Level 1 workshop with Alison Cooke, RT. They are now keen to practice on family and friends so that they can add Therapeutic Touch to their hospice visits.

The Canadian Association of Specialized Kinesiology is hosting the International Kinesiology Conference in Banff, Alberta September 23 -27, 2015. Members of the TTNA will have a booth at which they will be distributing information about Therapeutic Touch. Dr. Chery Ann Hoffmeyer, TTNA teacher, is presenting a major paper at this conference on "The Therapeutic Touch Process as Exemplar of Confluence" which is the theme of the conference. Therapeutic Touch at The Canadian Hospice and Palliative Care Conference in Ottawa

The Canadian Hospice and Palliative Care Conference will be in Ottawa, Ontario will be held October 29 to November 1, 2015. The theme is 'New Challenges - New Horizons: Moving Forward'. The Ottawa Therapeutic Touch practice group will be distributing Therapeutic Touch brochures and providing other information. As well, Dr. David Maginley, a chaplain and  ATTN member has been invited to do a webinar on Spirituality. Sienna Living Learns About Therapeutic Touch

More Outreach from Whitby Practice Group

On March 25, 2015 a small group from the Whitby Therapeutic Touch Practice Group attended the Huntington Society of Canada Support Group in Whitby. Huntington Disease (HD) is an inherited, progressive brain disorder that affects physical, cognitive, and emotional functions.  Support is offered to "individuals with Huntington Disease, persons at-risk, persons who are gene-positive, caregivers and family members".   The KoKreative Therapeutic Touch DVD was shown followed by a demonstration of a Therapeutic Touch session.  Afterwards all participants received Therapeutic Touch. Subsequently we were invited to participate in the 2nd Annual Durham Region Walk to Cure Huntington Disease on Sunday May 24,

8th Annual Health and Wellness Fair at Westminster United Church in Whitby, February 28

The Whitby Therapeutic Therapeutic Touch Practice Group is a very active group! They have been involved since the Whitby Health Fair’s inception 8 years ago. On Saturday February 28, 2015 they offered Therapeutic Touch® from 10:00 am to 2:00pm.  They had a poster board and distributed the TTNO brochures and business cards for their Therapeutic Touch clinic at St. Mark’s United Church.  Most people were keenly interested to hear more about Therapeutic Touch and about the clinic.  Nine practitioners offered Therapeutic Touch sessions to the public in the peaceful sanctuary.   This year they saw a greater number of men
