Guelph Teachers Present at the Bereavement Ontario Network Conference

RNAO-CTNIG 2015 Annual General Meeting April 18

Friday, April 17 of this year at the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario AGM, the Complementary Therapies Nurses’ Interest Group (CTNIG) had a Therapeutic Touch poster included in their display in the Exhibit Hall.  Hundreds of nurses including nursing students, hospital nurses, community nurses, educators and administrators attended. Therapeutic Touch Network of Ontario (TTNO) members Darka Neill (CTNIG Consulting Editor) and Kim Watson (CTNIG president ) were present to provide information about Therapeutic Touch (TT) and offer sessions. Windsor Chapter of the RNAO

Complementary Therapies Where Are We Today with Practice and Research? The Windsor-Essex RNAO chapter held their Complemetary Therapies day April 4, 5:30-9:00pm at Hospice of Windsor-Essex County. This event was open to all nurses. The Windsor Practice Group were in attendance with their information display. Throughout the day they provided mini Therapeutic Touch Sessions.

Owen Sound – 18th Annual Health Fair 2015

Members of the Wiarton Practice Groups were again busy at the Owen Sound Health Fair Saturday, March 21. They offered mini sessions non-stop from 10 am to 3:00pm. A display was set up and were questions answered throughout the day. What seemed to impress the people looking on, was that some folks actually slept, even in the room’s fairly noisy environment, following treatment. Trish Dean Spreads the Word in Malawi

Trish Dean in Malawi Trish Dean arrived as a volunteer in Malawi at Likuni Mission Hospital on November 20, 2013 to support the hospital with their pain management program and palliative care unit.  She went from ward to ward each day, offering Therapeutic Touch to patients, guardians and staff and ran a workshop where the nurses, clinicians and office staff participated and learned how to do Therapeutic Touch™.  Trish was amazed at how quickly the participants were able to learn the concepts and put TT into practice.  She received some amazing sessions herself and gives the staff a thumbs up! Read
