Hospice Wellington Education Session

Therapeutic Touch is very active at Hospice Wellington in Guelph and Wellington County.  Those who volunteer for Hospice Wellington have level 3 TT and take a volunteer course with the organization. Therapeutic Touch Introduced to Caregivers at Wellington Alzheimer Society Support Group

On Thursday, November 7, Alison Cooke introduced Therapeutic Touch to caregivers at the Wellington support group of the Alzheimer Society Hastings-Prince Edward. Alison used a short PowerPoint presentation, followed by a demonstration, to introduce Therapeutic Touch for Self-Care and how to learn to give TT to others through the TTNO Levels 1, 2 and 3. TT at Guelph General Hospital for Healthy Workplace Month

On October 8, five TTNO volunteers offered Therapeutic Touch mini-sessions to 12 staff members over the lunch hour at Guelph General Hospital as part of Healthy Workplace Month. It was coordinated through Employee Health as an opportunity for self-care.  Some staff were looking for help with sleep and rest while others just came to experience a session.  Many commented on how relaxed they felt.  There are plans in place to consider a similar event next year.

We are saddened to announce that our beloved Dr. Dolores “Dee” Krieger, PhD, Professor Emerita, New York University Division of Nursing, age 97, crossed over on June 16, 2019 at her home outside Columbia Falls, Montana.
