Alison Cooke, braved her trepidation and did three Facebook Live presentations during TTAW. The first introduced Therapeutic Touch Awareness Week. In the second talked about her thirty-year journey with Therapeutic Touch in Long Term Care (LTC). She shared stories to illustrate all the benefits of TT and the added benefits residents of LTC receive from TT. Therapeutic Touch for Self-Care in Oaxaca, Mexico
In January, 2020, Malia Ronderos returned to Oaxaca, Mexico, to continue the work she started last year in the cancer unit of the Hospital de la Niñez Oaxaqueña. Malia met with nurses at the hospital again, where she facilitated an introduction to Therapeutic Touch for Self-Care. This workshop was part of International Women’s Day weekend and was delivered to an enthusiastic and caring group of women, who very much look forward to the next presentation in 2021. Malia has started a Facebook group in Spanish in order to stay in touch, raise awareness and build a vibrant community in the region.

Therapeutic Touch for Self-Care Introduced to Hospice Simcoe Staff and Volunteers
Recognizing that those who work at Hospice Simcoe are stressed with all that COVID requires, on April 23rd, Arlene Cugelman, RT, presented a Zoom meeting to introduce “Self-Care with Therapeutic Touch” to all volunteers and staff. Using a short PowerPoint presentation, Therapeutic Touch (TT) was explained , centering was introduced with a breath meditation and, after teaching how to clear the hand, theywent on to self-care with TT. Bishop Smith High School Students Earn Level 1
On January 14th, twenty students from Bishop Smith Catholic High School in Pembroke completed their Level 1 Therapeutic Touch® training. Patricia Tamosetis, RP, gave an introductory talk earlier in the year. Interested students were encouraged to attend the Level 1 workshop. On February 4, Alison Cooke introduced Therapeutic Touch to the Esthetics Class at Loyalist College in Belleville. The students viewed a PowerPoint presentation while learning how to feel their own energy field and that of a partner. The students were surprised by how much they could feel! They also learned how to quiet their minds in a short centering exercise. They were encouraged to continue using the exercise to help them with their stressful lives!

Hospice Wellington Education Session
Therapeutic Touch is very active at Hospice Wellington in Guelph and Wellington County. Those who volunteer for Hospice Wellington have level 3 TT and take a volunteer course with the organization. On Wednesday, October 16th, this group of volunteers, along with Rachel Stockdale, our staff person, gathered for a meeting, education session and of course, a pot luck dinner. We were updated with procedures and policy regarding our residential services.
